The situation

An AI-generated statement that a task is complete does not tell me which files changed, whether the result was tested or whether it is safe to release.

The website became a practical place to apply the same hold-point thinking I use in industrial work.

What mattered

I needed changes to stay within a defined scope, preserve a known starting point and leave a record of the actual result. A failure needed to remain visible for the next attempt.

What I did

I developed the Phase-Gate Forge method around bounded tasks, controlled PowerShell execution, backups, hashes and recorded checks. Planning, execution, verification and release decisions have distinct responsibilities.

Changes are checked in an isolated candidate. Review considers the files and test evidence before a person decides whether the candidate can be released.

The control

The release gate asks: is this the intended change, are the files the ones that were checked, what failed, and what remains unresolved?

That makes the result easier to inspect and recover. It does not make AI infallible or remove the need to test the real environment.

What this demonstrates

An operational method for AI-assisted construction with traceable state, explicit responsibilities and human release authority. The method has been used in my owned website and tooling work.
